Twitter with Pictures, Video and More...

TwitWall was created in the summer of 2008 by Michael E. Carluen, the product development guy at 365labs. He liked the no-frills approach of 'micro-blogging' and how Twitter implemented the concept. Michael thought Twitter serves his needs well because he realizes he does not have enough hours in the day to keep-up a full-blown blog. Occasionally, however, he still has a few good things to show and tell about anything and everything. He needed a way to post his audio, image, and video files but with the ease, simplicity, and reach of Twitter.

The original intent of TwitWall is to provide a ‘space’ for Tweeps/Tweeples who understand tweeting, but do not (ie have a or want to) blog. Unlike blogging which are composed formal writings (essays), tweeting are random thoughts. Often however, random thoughts exceed 140 chars, or may not even be just text. If you are a blogger, occasionally you may have thoughts that may not generally fit the general theme of your blog content. To that, you may want to post those thoughts on your TwitWall as an alternative to your formal blog.

Why use Twitwall if you already use TwitPic for images, and TinyURL for URL links, and TwitterFeed for your blog RSS?

In addition to uploaded images, TwitWall supports embedded content like widgets, videos, audio mp3 podcasts. Also, images on TwitWall can be source images- you can attach images to your entries originating from existing http:// locations like Photobucket, or your favorite news website.

If personal branding is important to you, the user, TwitWall inherits the design preferences of your Twitter page (background image and color schemes). If you wish to show a video to your readers, why send your them to the YouTube site or someone else blog, if you can accomplish that while still keeping your readers within arms length of your Twitter page?

Twitwall is for those who need to share their podcasts, announce their book signing schedules, preview the screenshots of their latest project, show the video of their latest gig, or even gather comments on the latest song composed from their Twitter friends and followers. Alas, TwitWall was born.
